When should I wax my car?

Before you apply touchup paint, make sure you don’t wax the car — you want to remove any wax and grease on the surface using household dishwashing soap like Dawn, Joy or Ivory. After you touch up the paint, we recommend you wait 30 days before waxing. This is because any residual outgassing and curing of the paint will be trapped by the wax.
